Use of Buildings and Properties

Community Effort

A. The school is considered a community effort, thus, the building may be used by the public when it does not interfere with regular school work and the building is properly supervised. The use of the school building and equipment by adult groups shall be scheduled through the superintendent’s office. The fees charged for the use of the school building shall in all cases be sufficient to cover the cost of lights, extra heat, and janitor’s service as required by law.

B. The following are the rules and regulations with respect to public buildings:
(1) No use shall be permitted without prior application by the user and authorizing reservations and the decisions with respect to the use and availability of space shall be subject to the discretion of the superintendent of schools.
(2) The granting of reservations and the decisions with respect to the use and availability of space shall be subject to the discretion of the superintendent of schools.
(3) Building will be opened thirty minutes prior to the scheduled time of the event.
(4) Renters or users of school buildings shall assume full responsibility for the condition of the building and the conduct of those in attendance.
(5) No drinking of alcoholic beverages shall be permitted in school buildings.

C. Loan of Equipment
School equipment may not be loaned for removal from the school premises. In no case will equipment be loaned to individuals. All purchases which have been contributed to the school by an organization shall become the property of the school district and under control of the assigned personnel.
